Painted Prayers: Books of Hours from the Morgan Library

The Getty’s Fall 2005 Premiere Presentation, Painted Prayers: Books of Hours from the Morgan Library, features more than 50 splendid examples of books of hours, the best-selling book of the Middle Ages, from one of the finest collection of illuminated manuscripts in America. Complementing Painted Prayers is A Masterpiece Reconstructed: The Hours of Louis XII, which brings together for the first time in 300 years 15 miniatures and a portion of the text from one of the finest French manuscripts ever made. Both exhibitions are on view at the Getty Center from October 18, 2005 to January 8, 2006.
