Let Antiquity Be Your Inspiration

Getty Villa offers guided drawing lessons in the gardens and galleries

At the J. Paul Getty Museum, Getty Villa
Saturdays, 10:00 am — 1:00 pm

LOS ANGELES—Bring your sketchbook and pencils to the Getty Villa and join Drawing from Antiquity, a course for artists at all levels who seek inspiration from the landscapes of classical antiquity. Artist Jaime Ursic guides a lesson and critique on the first and fourth Saturdays; participants work independently on the Saturdays in between. A different theme is chosen each month and all skill levels are welcome. The course fee is $65 a month, and sessions are held 10 am—1 pm each Saturday. February focuses on fauna, March on figures, April on flora, May on forms, and June on forms in space. You can sign up for one month, or many. For more information and to sign up, visit or call (310) 440-7300.
