Chef Mayet Cristobal has created a seasonal menu providing a perfect way to set the stage for Persians—a new production by SITI Company—presented Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings September 4–27.
Before Thursday evening performances is the Nectar of the Gods Sunset Celebration on the South Balcony. From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., guests can enjoy light Mediterranean fare, wine, and beer on the Museum’s south balcony, overlooking the Outer Peristyle garden. The menu will include charred cauliflower, eggplant and fried chickpeas, roasted fingerling potatoes, grilled shrimp cocktail and charcuterie paired with imported white and red wines, Mionetto Prosecco and Peroni beer. For dessert, market figs with vincotto, baklava palmiers and chocolate tartlets complete the celebration.
The sit-down dinner menu, served Friday and Saturday evenings in the private dining room overlooking the outdoor theater, begins with a heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers and faro salad, followed by your choice of two entrées, lamb two ways, chop and osso bucco, with dill-saffron rice, grilled eggplant, frilly greens, crispy artichokes and tahini dressing, and wild king salmon with cauliflower skordalia, cabbage and tart apple salad, lemon dill sauce and crispy fennel, or a vegetarian option. Wine is available by the glass, and Chef Mayet suggests wine pairings to go with your menu selections. Enjoy coffee and dessert at the table—or take it with you to the theater.
Gourmet boxed dinners are also available, including a selection of fresh local salads, handcrafted sandwiches and wraps, a hot entrée and an artisan cheese box. House-baked desserts, which include petit cookies and flour-less chocolate cake, and a variety of beers and wines will also be available for purchase onsite.
The sunset celebration on Thursday evenings is $38 per person. Prix fixe dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings are $70 ($90 with wine pairing) and are served at 6:15 p.m., before the 8:00 p.m. curtain time. Advance reservations are required for both and can be made at www.getty.edu. To ensure a relaxing dinner experience, theater seats will be reserved in advance for all sunset celebration and prix fixe dinner guests.
