Squeeze the most from your summer with Friday evenings at the Getty Center, when the crowds and the sun go down, and the Getty Restaurant offers themed menus tied to the Getty’s popular exhibitions Herb Ritts: LA Style and Gustav Klimt: The Magic of Line.

Until September 21, the Getty is open until 9 p.m. on Friday evenings as well as Saturdays, creating another evening each week to enjoy the galleries and gardens and wait out the traffic on the 405.

Herb Ritts: LA Style has been extended through September 2. Gustav Klimt: The Magic of Line is on view through September 23. In connection with the Ritts exhibition, the Restaurant offers a prix fixe Dine L.A. Style menu featuring a palate of black and white sauces, reductions, vinaigrettes and creamy desserts that express L.A.’s inimitable flair and flavors. Celebrate Gustav Klimt with a pork schnitzel and a flight of Austrian beer.

Also on view is Messerschmidt and Modernity, featuring the astonishing "Character Heads" produced by Franz Xaver Messerschmidt (1736–1783), and the work of modern and contemporary artists who have responded to them. Don’t miss the opportunity to add your face to the exhibition in the Expression Lab, where you and your friends can pose and share your own response to the Character Heads.

The Restaurant is open for dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings, and coffee carts offer sandwiches, salads, snacks and drinks. Parking, normally $15, is discounted to $10 after 5 p.m. Admission is always free.
